Today is my first blog.
I hope to use this forum as a means of communication between my students, parents, and me.
School begins in less than one month. I have my first back-to school meeting tomorrow to begin working on the committee planning "advisory activities". Parents and students: do you have any feedback I can take to the meeting?

- I am a 6th grade social studies teacher. I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I have also lived in Iowa, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Illinois. Student success is my passion. I have a B.S. from Univ of Iowa and MEd and EdS from Southern IL University at Edwardsville. I have been a finalist for IL Teacher of the Year and a Fulbright Scholar in Russia. I have worked with the Dept. of Ed. in DC with the publication: Improving Organization and Study to Improve Student Learning--it can be downloaded at the Doing What Works Website for teachers.

I HAVE BEEN THINKING STILL AND STILL HAVE THOUGHT OF NONE BUT I WILL STILL THINK OF SOME IF ONE POPS UP IN MY HEAD I WILL LET YOU KNOW!!!
