As I write, the ship is entering the port of Alexandria, Egypt. I was so excited, I got up early so I could do a quick writing before I leave. Today, I will tour Alexandria, have lunch at a local restaurant and in the afternoon, leave for Cairo (three hours away). We will be served high tea at our hotel. My room is supposed to look out over the Nile River !!!!! Tonight, I go on my "Night at the Museum" tour! Ohhh...to see the mummies--IN EGYPT--WHILE PITCH DARK OUTSIDE !! Now, for the bad news...I will not be able to take pictures inside the museum; I am sad, but I understand. For the GOOD news...I WILL be seeing mummies! I will get to see the actual King Tut mask that is on the front of our textbooks! I will get to see his golden sarcophagus along with many treasures from his tomb.
Tomorrow, I go to the pyramids. I am so hoping to be able to ride a camel!!! If I get the chance, you can be sure I WILL send a photo of that experience!!
I will tell you all about it when I return to the ship.
